We are the church of the living God and as Christians we are called to be the pillars and support of this great household. How do we live this calling in the practicality and reality of our lives? There is no other way but to pattern our lives and conduct after our Master Jesus.

He is righteousness, integrity and truth. His outer and inner being is one. As such He can impact all people and shine as true light for all nations. Ascending to heaven, Jesus has missioned us to be His witnesses. This witnessing means that we who are Christians have to perpetuate the light of Christ, with the help of the Spirit. We can only do that if we live as He did.

The Gospel text gives us the clue to humankind's constant disatisfication, agitation and never-ending complaint. Such unpleasantness has stunted our growth and we remain childish babes caught up in the noise, clamour and distraction of the market place. We fail to grow in wisdom and stature as Jesus did. We need to learn to be still and to constantly withdraw to that "solitary place" so as to be with the Father and to learn from Him. In this way, we learn to respond to His invitation to grow into our full stature, and experience God as the wonderful truth.

Lord, help us to grow in wisdom and in stature as You did so that we can come into the experiential knowledge of the glory of You in our lives.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
