We often focus on the great suffering that Jesus was subjected to when He was crucified. But Luke's account also presents a picture of great hope for all human beings. When Jesus is hanging on the cross, after experiencing unspeakable suffering, one of the two robbers asks Him to "remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus replies, "I promise you, today you will be with me in paradise." The criminal recognized that he had done wrong in his life time, he had sinned, and appealed to Jesus for forgiveness. We too need to recognize our own sinfulness and brokenness. We can turn to Jesus and appeal to Him for help. The promise that Jesus made to this criminal is very reassuring for us as we will all die some day and none of us is without sin. If we trust Jesus and follow His teachings, then our hope is that we will be with Him in paradise when we die. Even at the end of His life Jesus was still trying to teach us. We are assured that all human beings can be saved no matter what they have done in this life. Such is the great love of God that we are all capable of being with God in heaven providing we try to follow Jesus' teachings.

Jesus remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
