The parable that Jesus gives today clearly points to the religious leaders. They are like the son who promised to obey his father but then did not. The other son refused to do what he was told but later changed his mind. The leaders regarded themselves as people who faithfully followed God's commands but, when it came to Jesus, the Word of God, they refused to recognise Him. The Gentiles and many sinners, who had broken God's law many times, heard Jesus and put all their faith in Him. It is easy for us to be very pious and make all kinds of promises during Mass on Sunday and then act very differently from Monday to Saturday. True service of God is not found in religious exercises if they are not accompanied by loving deeds. And it is never too late to say Yes to God and to Jesus.

Blessed are those who recognise their Lord in every person and place.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
