In today's secular materialist modern world, it is not fashionable to be a Christian. In the media we find that Christians are often under attack for what they believe. St Paul's words ring true for Christians everywhere 'that anybody who tries to live in devotion to Christ is certain to be attacked'. The attack on Christians can take the form of outright persecution involving physical force. Many people face this. But more often the attack is quite subtle, simply ignoring or ridiculing all that we believe in. In both situations, however, it is always affirming and reassuring when Christians are prepared to stand up for what they believe and to follow Jesus' teaching. St Paul points out that the scriptures teach us how to live our lives and will always serve as a guide for our actions. Christ never let St Paul down when he was teaching about Christianity and God will always stand by us as well no matter how we are attacked for our faith. We should remind ourselves that the more like Christ we are the better chance we have of inspiring others and leading them to Christ. In this way we follow our vocation of spreading the Good News.

Lord, be our guide and help us to spread the Good News.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That all Christians may be constantly more aware of their personal and community responsibility to bear witness to God's love for humanity and for every man and woman.
