The theme of the final judgement is one that goes right through our readings as we approach the end of the liturgical year. It is a time for reflection on where we stand before God and before each other. These reminders are not meant to frighten us but to help us to prepare and, above all, to be ready at all times.

For our judgement is as close as the day of our death, which can come on us like a thief in the night. Every day we read of people whose lives have come to a totally unexpected end. But, if we are always ready, there is nothing to fear.

And the best way to be ready is not to live in a state of anxiety but simply to spend each day in the conscious presence of our God, meeting Him in every person and every experience of every day.

Stand erect and hold your head high, because your liberation is near!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christian men and women, aware of the vocation which is theirs in the Church, may answer generously to God's call to seek holiness in the midst of their lives.
