Paul in his letter today calls for an unambiguous Yes in relation to what we say and do. Sometimes we are in two minds about things and while we might say Yes, our actions, words or even our body language may indicate that we are not comfortable with it. Worse still, we might even say one thing and do the complete opposite, opening ourselves to being hypocrites. This would certainly not be in line with being the salt of the earth and light to the world.

As Christians we are called to remain focused on our direction in life and this must mean a constant awareness of our Yes to God in all that He asks of us. Tempted as we might be to think or act otherwise, we need to rely on the Lord's power and strength to act according to His will, daily renewing our Yes to Him.

This might involve going against the current of the world, but only by being different and even standing out awkwardly when it is needed, can we truly be witnesses of Christ. As salt and light we are not to call attention to ourselves but rather to Christ, the true light of the world, whose Yes was ever-faithful and ever-complete.

Lord, may I always allow Your will to be done in my life, that I might shine for You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That our society should, with concrete acts of Christian and brotherly love, come to the aid of the millions of refugees who live in extreme need and abandonment.
