In the Gospel, Jesus tells a parable about a king (God) who gave a wedding banquet. When the invited guests did not show up, the King (God) did not cancel the banquet but told his servants to go "into the byroads and invite to the wedding anyone" they came upon. Those who filled the hall turn out to be the good as well as the bad. Yes, we are all invited, saints or sinners to feast in the Kingdom of God. God's reign is intended for all. His generous and lavish love reaches the ends of the earth. His indiscriminate generosity and reconciling love was seen in Jesus' healings and His fatherly care was revealed in Jesus' association - particularly in the intimate gesture of sharing meals, with outcasts and sinners, rich or poor, male or female and religious elite or religiously excluded.

Today, as we celebrate and eat at the Lord's table, we are reminded of God's abounding love for us and for the whole world. We are lured forward in hope of the time beyond time where Christ will be in all. For now let us break 'Bread' as sisters and brothers, as a people of the byroads.

God of all people, make us one in Christ. Amen.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christians may not be discouraged by the attacks of secularized society, but with complete trust, may bear witness to their faith and hope.
