All options we make today relate to the end time. As we live so we die. We may not fully understand the ways of Jesus Christ all the time. We can disregard rules and regulations sometimes but our basic loyalty to God and the Holy Spirit, breathed into our beings at the moment of our creation, goes beyond mere adherence to laws. What is unforgiveable is deliberate, enduring obstinacy and opposition to the influence of the Holy Spirit who is always at work in each human being.

To choose to be permanently obstinate to God's action in our life, is ultimately a self-harming choice. Closing all doors to any goodness entering within us sounds absurd but that's what we do when we deny the Spirit within, for the Spirit brings good out of the mess in our lives. The Spirit creates order from chaos, (Gen. 1:1-2). It brings light into focus. Can we deny light exists in us?

When we are convinced of God's ultimate goodness we cannot but acknowledge Him before humanity. Jesus invites us, as His followers, to stand up for truth and goodness - the truth for which He laid down His life. We are assured that the Spirit will speak within us, for us (be our Advocate) when we need to defend even the ministry we are in, and thus acknowledge the ultimate sovereignity of God in Jesus Christ over all earthly values and forces.

Lord, lead us on in the ways of Your Spirit.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christians may not be discouraged by the attacks of secularized society, but with complete trust, may bear witness to their faith and hope.
