Since God has made me His child, putting me "right" with Him through Jesus Christ His Son, what is my response?

Let me put myself in the place of "the other disciple" with Andrew (Jn. 1:35), being shown the Person of Jesus whom I follow, listen to, and remain with. Through faith I know He can put me right. I hear Him welcoming Simon, whom his brother Andrew recruits. Jesus gives him the name, Peter, which means "rock". The outspoken Peter will constantly be reprimanded by Jesus and be "put right", even after he had denied his Master, though deep down he truly loved Jesus and cheerfully accepted being put right. He finally did lay down his life for his faith in Jesus, His Lord and God.

And so, my own response to my calling as a follower of Jesus Christ is, as 1 Jn. 3:7-10 says, to do right and love God in my neighbour, I shall be assailed with temptations from Satan, the world and my own weak human nature, but like Peter, my closeness to Jesus who always puts me right, will reassure me of His power and pardon.

Heavenly Father, grant me the grace to be faithful to Your promptings in all I do and say. May I never cease witnessing by my love and zeal to all around the righteousness You have bestowed on me through Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
