In today's Book of Kings and in Mark's Gospel, we hear of two widows who give and share what little they have. In the Letter to the Hebrews, we hear of Jesus giving His whole self, His body and blood for the salvation of the world. After listening to today's scripture, do we not feel the necessity to learn and participate in "Giving" In a world where the poor are neglected, the sick are avoided, strangers are feared, millions starve to death and children are abused, the opportunities are there calling out for us!

The Psalmist says "The Lord secures justice for the oppressed - gives food to the hungry, sets captives free, gives sight to the blind, protects the stranger. He helps the widow. We must admit the great love God has for those in need, but just as true is the fact that God needs us to do His work. This is the divine plan that we participate in God's giving, when we reach out to those who reach out to us! Yes, it is better to give than to receive for in receiving God's love, we shall always have enough to give!

Lord, teach me to be generous towards those in need!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
