"That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God ¡K" (Heb. 11:16) - Is God ashamed to be called our God?

Apartheid, racism, human rights violation, socio-political-economic instability, consumerism, secularization and materialism - these are but some of the facts of life as found in our world today. What has happened to our world? We have made much progress in science and technology, in drama and arts, and in almost all areas pertaining to human living, yet these so-called successes are not without their price. In the name of progress, no age has ever exploited mother earth or the human race as ours!

Is God ashamed to be called our God? Is there no hope? There is. Look at Abraham. Lead that life of faith. Much of our present day sufferings and dilemmas are due to a lack of faith in God to provide, to justify, and to fulfill the unfulfilled in our lives.

Lord, help us to give up our Isaacs and live as foreigners on this earth, so that one day we may walk into the "city founded, designed and built" by You and find our joy in living our lives as Your creation and You our God.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That in our time, unfortunately marked by many episodes of violence, the pastors of the Church may continue to indicate the way of peace and understanding among peoples.
