God is a mystery to be experienced as we are invited continually in our joy and sorrow to respond to His call.

Every experience of God's mercy is a fresh invitation to make a new start from where we find ourselves. To live an unproductive and inactive life in terms of repentance and renewal is likened to an unfruitful tree which uses up all the earth's resources. Such a life is characteristic of those who procrastinate and abandon eternal-life-giving choices indefinitely. Such persons receive severe warnings of doom. (1 Cor. 10:10-12).

God's patience and mercy is not to be abused. Jesus refuses, however, to share the current belief that calamities, sufferings, and pain were the consequences of individual sins. God is not responsible for our pain, our sufferings. For He hears our cry, sees our pain and means to deliver us as Moses experiences/discovers this all embracing God at the "burning bush". God's love is salvific; neither judgemental nor retributional. The psalmist reminds us that the very nature of God is compassion and love.

Lord, give us confidence in Your love which surpasses all understanding.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the word of God may be ever more listened to, contemplated, loved and lived.
