We have entered the final stages of Jesus' life and He is now in Jerusalem where He had made a triumphal entrance. But the mood was changing very quickly. He had not endeared Himself by driving the buyers and sellers in the Temple and His authority was being questioned. Today He speaks a parable full of meaning. It speaks of a man who had a vineyard but when he sent his servants to collect the fruit due to him, one after another they were physically attacked and even killed. Finally, he decided to send his son expecting that, at least, they would respect him. On the contrary, intending to keep the fruit of the vineyard for themselves, they threw the son out of the vineyard and killed him. The result was inevitable. The tenants would be thrown out and the vineyard entrusted to more reliable people. The message is clear. The Old Testament is a long story of people consistently rejecting God's messengers concluding with the killing of the Son of God. The new tenants will be those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord. The question for me to ask today is: Am I truly numbered among these?

The stone rejected by the builders has become the keystone.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That all Christians may cultivate a deep and personal friendship with Christ, in order to be able to communicate the strength of his love to every person they meet.
