"Proximity" is to feel oneself near to the other. This is what stimulates the feeling of responsibility of the "self or the I." This leads also to care and change oneself for the other, placing the "other" in place of the "self" in a relationship of love and service. Thanks to the assuming of responsibilities towards the other, the "ego" goes out from the prison of the self and leaves from being the absolute.

This is what we learn from today's Gospel. Only a love of God spontaneous and free which leads to love our neighbour as we love our self contributes to make us more human, more perfect images of God because that is what God is: Love.

Your command of Love, Lord, is what makes us perfect. Help me to live the love of God and my neighbour radically and with coherence.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That public opinion may be more aware of the problem of millions of displaced persons and refugees and that concrete solutions may be found for their often tragic situation.
