"Do not be afraid; just have faith." Faith makes miracles.

Both situations described in today's Gospel were hopeless ones from the human point of view. The daughter of Jairus had died. The suffering woman didn't regain her health after twelve years and she didn't have any money left for doctors. However, at the time of their helplessness it was their faith that opened them to the power of God's merciful love.

It is easy to claim that we trust in God when everything goes smoothly in our life. It is very difficult to trust in God when we experience the darkness of death, the helplessness of injustice or the hopelessness of sickness. However, the only one real proof of our faith is when we are able to trust in God, completely and without any reservation, at the time of trial.

"Do not be afraid; just have faith." Jesus tells us these words every time when we face something that seems impossible for us. There is only one way to strengthen our faith. We must keep our eyes fixed intently on Jesus and follow Him. He is our leader and perfecter of faith.

Lord, help me to leave behind every burden, especially sin so that I may persevere in running the race of faith.

"I will fulfill my vows before those who fear the Lord."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the Pastors of the Church may always be docile to the action of the Holy Spirit in their teaching and in their service to God's people.
