"Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." The gift of faith.

It was not only St. Thomas the Apostle who didn't believe that Jesus was truly risen. All of the Apostles were full of doubts and they also didn't want to believe the women who saw Jesus after His resurrection.

"Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." We believe in Jesus even though we have not seen Him. We believe that He is really present in the Holy Eucharist even though we cannot prove that. Indeed, we are very blessed because of our Catholic faith.

But is this faith of our own merit? No, it isn't. We believe because God has touched our hearts with His grace and filled them with the gift of faith. We also believe because we have met people who were true witnesses of the risen Lord.

"Brothers and sisters: You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone."

May we find today a time during our daily prayers to remember and to thank God for all those people who have led us to Jesus and who have helped us to believe in Him.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
