"For it is love that I desire, not sacrifice" says the Lord in the first reading, and Jesus adds that God welcomes the one who presents himself before Him with humility. The conscious awareness of our own sinfulness is the trampoline to throw ourselves towards the love of God. And in our own confession, the thanksgiving for the forgiveness received is founded. During Lent, every Christian has to make his or her way to receive the grace of the Risen Lord in Easter, because our Saviour is found present in our daily ascension toward Him.

In the Gospel of Luke today, in opposition to the sufficiency of the Pharisee who is proud of his own works, the humility of the Publican manifests the authentic spiritual way to receive the justification, pardon and love from our Father God.

O God, be merciful to me a sinner! I love You and I wish to be fully Yours.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the role of women may be more appreciated and used to good advantage in every country in the world.
