We should be grateful to Philip for making his request to Jesus. Jesus had been talking so often about his Father that Philip wants to see this Father. Jesus expresses his surprise at the question. "To have seen me is to have seen the Father¡K because I am in the Father and the Father is in me." Of course, we need to understand what Jesus is saying. When we see the man Jesus, one sense we do not see the Father. The Father in himself is beyond all human knowing. Nevertheless, because the Father is totally united with Jesus, whatever Jesus says or does through his humanity reflects what the Father is. The Father speaks to us through the humanity of Jesus in a language that we can see and understand. That is why we call Jesus the Way - the Way to the Father. But Jesus goes further when he says that anyone who truly believes in him will do what Jesus has been doing - and will do even more. That is because Jesus, limited by His humanity, depends on His followers to go far and wide and bring His message and His love to places and people Jesus could never reach in His life time. Today let me think seriously of the people to whom I can bring the message of Jesus, people who would otherwise never hear it.

Lord, may all the ends of the earth see the salvation of our God through my words and deeds.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the laity and the Christian Communities may be responsible promoters of priestly and religious vocations.
