If we do not want to believe or accept something we will find all kinds of reasons and excuses. The work of Jesus was so clearly coming from God. Jesus was bringing all kinds of life and healing and peace into people's lives but there were some who just did not want to see the obvious. Otherwise they would have to believe in Jesus. But for them, Jesus was a bad person. He had to be because he mixed with all kinds of bad people. So they said that what Jesus was doing he was doing by the power of Satan. Jesus shows that such an accusation is nonsense. Jesus was healing people and bringing them closer to God. Why would Satan do such a thing? Jesus, in fact, is the stronger man who can drive out another strong man. But there is also a warning. It is not enough just to be made clean (e.g. by going to Confession). We have to change our lives and carry out the teaching of Jesus otherwise we are open to even worse temptations. Let us pray today that we not only allow Jesus to heal us but to give us the strength to live actively according to his Way.

The Lord says: I am the Way, the Truth and Life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Sundays may be lived as the day on which Christians gather to celebrate the Risen Lord, participating in the Eucharist.
