The Alleluia verse today speaks of the wisdom of God guiding creation with power and love. God is the Lord of creation and so is also Lord of our human history. No matter how evil human actions might be, God continues guiding both creation and history with the power of divine love, the Holy Spirit. We see God's loving design coming to fruition in history when we realize that Jacob's prophecy for Judah was not historically fulfilled in the way he intended, for the other tribes were eventually split from Judah to form a separate kingdom. According to the Gospels, the prophecy to Judah is fulfilled in the life of Jesus and his work of building God's Kingdom of truth and justice, love and peace. In the twists and turns of the history of the Chosen People, we see the desire of God being realized, not in way we might expect, but according to God's own wisdom and grace, for God brings good out of evil and true success out of disappointment and failure. In the gift of his Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour, God fulfils all His promises beyond all our hopes and dreams.

Father in Heaven, in your loving-kindness, fulfil in our age all our desires for justice and peace in a world which is so full of evil.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That our experience of suffering may help us better understand the pain of the many people who are alone, sick, or aged, and stir us to generous help.
