Who has not felt overwhelmed and helpless when faced with the negativity and injustice of the world? Isaiah - representing all Israel - cries out like a woman in labour to the only one who can set things right - God. God alone is righteous and just, and it is only God who can grant us true peace. But superficial and occasional prayers will not do - we must yearn for our God and His deliverance with the intensity of Isaiah - as much as breath and life itself.

What could be so easy and light about a yoke? We always think of a yoke in terms of slavery or bondage. But the yoke is something positive: it keeps the oxen walking straight paths and prevents them from wandering away. More importantly, two or more oxen can pull the load together so the burden is not too great. Jesus does not promise us an easy life but a bearable and fruitful one. He will not impose any burdens on us - in fact, he promises that he will be connected with us and will support us in our journey through life. We will never have to bear our burden alone if we have the humility to admit our weakness and need and ask for the Lord's help.

Lord, walk with me in my journey.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
