Jesus promised his disciples that he would remain with them even after he was lifted up to heaven. The signs that would accompany their preaching were to be a confirmation of his presence with them. In the same way, since each one of us is a disciple in our own way of relating with others at the workplace, at school, in public places, in hospitals, in prisons, etc. we are invited to look for signs of Christ's presence. In our interactions with others, in helping the poor and the oppressed, in taking care of the little ones, we are called to be witnesses of Christ. This is also an invitation to be responsible for our acts and make sure that we are truly sharing Christ's love for the sake of the other and not just for our own interests. As we engage with others, are we motivated by the love for Christ as the disciples were? This love requires us, as the first reading tells us, to clothe ourselves with humility towards one another because, "God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble."

Lord, we ask for the graces of love and humility so that we may contribute to building the Kingdom of God among our brothers and sisters.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
