Only surrender to God's love is enough! Because of the abundance of solutions to many of our needs, sometimes we tend to evaluate our wellbeing or our relationship of communion with God by the quantity of the external things we can do or offer in order to achieve wellbeing or communion with God. As a consequence, the importance of inner freedom is left out. From today's readings, we learn that it is not how much we offer to God or consume that will make us better or bring us closer to God. Communion with God depends on how much love we bring and how wholeheartedly we surrender ourselves to him. Even in matters of physical and intellectual needs, we do not need the best of what this world has to offer in order to gain good health or grow in wisdom. We only need his love and tender care. In the Babylonian King's palace, Daniel and his companions are a good example of a complete surrender to God's love. Even the King finds them healthier and wiser than those who had indulged in the abundance of the palace. We need to be like Daniel and companions - free from inordinate attachments.

Lord Jesus Christ, grant us, we pray, the grace of inner freedom so that we may wholeheartedly love, follow and serve Your people.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That priests who experience difficulties may find comfort in their suffering, support in their doubts, and confirmation in their fidelity.
