In the gospel today we see Jesus looking at the crowds. What he sees touches him deeply within his heart - people toiling for that which does not satisfy, people who are hungry and thirsty spiritually, people who are burdened by sin, people who are restless and burned out, people who are worn down by worry and fear. He then extends an invitation to the people: "Come to me".

Jesus describes himself as meek and humble of heart. He will give his peace to those who come to him and take on his yoke and learn from him. He promises that people who come to him will find rest for themselves.

It is beyond human analysis or conjecture to explain how by putting on Jesus one may find rest. But since the Triune God is so infinitely greater than we are, we leave God to work in us. All we need to do is to pray that we accept Jesus' invitation, let go of our ego, and go to him.

May God be blessed!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
