So many people struggle to be Christians but continue to think in worldly ways. It makes the path very difficult - even impossible at times. We are invited to seek the things that are above and apply our minds to those things - in other words, spiritual values and ideals. Christ is our life and we are hidden with him - this means that our hearts and minds should be nourished and cleansed by the Lord. Easter makes little sense to the worldly mind but infinite sense to those who dwell in the Spirit of God.

The disciples who raced to the tomb found it difficult to understand the meaning of its emptiness. Only after their encounter with the risen Lord did everything make sense. The neatly folded funeral coverings symbolized that death had been conquered. Jesus Christ was alive and so are we - not only after death, but even now if we so choose. Why do we continue to fear death so much? Believing in the resurrection of Jesus means leading a joyful, purposeful, and rich life, even with all the obstacles and hard knocks life can send our way. We proclaim that Christ is risen. Our lives and even our faces should also make this proclamation.

Lord, grant me new life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
