Do we remember any moment when we were awed by what we saw, and admitted that we were overwhelmed? Have we been undaunted by the possibility of rejection and forged forward single-mindedly? Do we have a desire that fuels us to keep going and gives us courage, to the extent that we don't mind eating humble pie, as long as we get what we ask? How often are we so convinced of the logic of our thinking and action plans that we believe it is only right to follow them through? Have we had the experience of changing our mind and choosing something better? Do we allow ourselves to be persuaded by good arguments?

These emotions all play out in today's readings. Adam exclaimed "at last!" when God brought to him the woman companion God built up out of his bone and flesh. Jesus was moved by a foreigner, a woman, to expand the scope of his ministry to include non-Jews.

Let us welcome courage, love, perseverance and good thinking into our family, workplace and the Church. Let us give due appreciation and opportunity to women, so that humankind may fly like a bird on two wings.

May God be blessed.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
