The very presence of Jesus brings about the healing powers of his teaching, which makes a deep impression on his listeners. Even the devil is overwhelmed. He tries to overcome the power of Jesus by shouting his name. But the commanding word of Jesus silences him into confusion, thus freeing the possessed man. To many of us , the power of Satan does seem to overwhelm us; it is because we have such little trust in the power of our God, who has overcome the world once and for all. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is proof that the whole world has been / is redeemed. Satan can have no power over us, unless we want him to rule our lives.

We are really living in a redeemed world, though we see nothing but chaos and suffering around us. Do we trust God enough to surrender our lives to him? Only then can we hope to ride the rough seas.

Lord we place ourselves into Your embrace of love and compassion.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
