"In truth I tell you, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country." Let us reflect on this statement of Jesus. Those who are sent by God to proclaim His message will be never accepted in their own country. Jesus wasn't accepted. He spread the message of the Kingdom of God in many places and many people believed in Him, but when he went back home to Nazareth everybody doubted him. Even his relatives claimed that he was out of his mind (Mk 3:21)

Can you imagine what Jesus felt? In the place where people should have supported him and believed in His message, he was, on the contrary, totally ignored. Maybe in your life you have had a similar experience. Maybe the people closest to you have ignored you or have never really understood you. Maybe you wanted to proclaim a message of forgiveness and love of Christ and they did not accept you. Whatever happened in your life, whatever experience of alienation you may have gone through, remember that you are never alone. Jesus also went through the worst kind of rejection and alienation. Look at him and gain the strength to cope with your own bad feelings. Do what he did: pray to the Father for help.

Lord Jesus, be with me in whatever difficulties may beset me and be my strength and encouragement.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
