The commandments that Moses and Jesus spoke, 1400 years apart, are the path of life. The commandments are still valid today. Jesus sees the continuity of God's message to us in them, and teaches us not only not to break the commandments, but to obey them and teach them.

Jesus loved his Jewish religion and he understood the heart of it. He desired to fulfil it by loving his Heavenly Father and all God's children to the full. He gave up his life for the great commandment of Love.

We, the people of God, have a faith history and a tradition of teachings. This heritage comes to us from the apostles. The Kingdom of Heaven begins here on earth.

I pray that I, like Jesus, may grasp the heart of my religion, and love God and my neighbour with all my heart and strength.

May my footsteps be firm in keeping the commandments. May the Kingdom of God come.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
