Today Paul draws a comparison between Adam and Jesus. The disobedience and sin of Adam has had an effect on all people, including ourselves. We feel the consequences of original sin as pain, suffering, shame, loneliness, confusion as well as distance in relationship with others and with God. In other words, the consequence of sin is death in all its forms.

Yet Jesus' obedience and loving offering of self, have prevented sin from having the final word. Though this world may be mired in sin and death, Jesus has caused this world to also abound in grace.

We are invited to embrace this grace. We are invited to be attentive and cooperate with Christ's voice in our lives. Jesus may return at any time and knock at the door.

Now is the best time to put down or step away from anything that I know draws me away from God. Now is the time to say 'yes' to what gives me a sense of peace in God, to what provides real meaning and lasting fulfillment in life. This 'yes' is what leads to the eternal life Jesus has won for us.

Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice made in love. Grant me courage to live in a way today that leads to life with You forever.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
