We often underestimate God and overestimate ourselves. Isaiah speaks of those who think they can outwit or hide from God. He assures them that they are mistaken - God's majesty and power are evident everywhere. God never wearies, and those who wait on God will be rewarded. They will be granted renewal and strength - it will be as if they had the wings of an eagle. God's strength will be our strength.

Jesus tells us the same thing - all who are weary and disheartened should come to him. He will grant rest for our souls. His yoke is easy and his burden light. This does not mean that we can escape struggles and difficulties in life. But Jesus will be our 'yoke-mate' - he will pull the burden with us, making sure that we never have more than we can handle. He will grant us courage and strength along the way. Life is never easy, but with God, it is not only manageable but often joyful and rewarding. We can be as happy or miserable as we want in life - let us choose God's way.

Lord, grant me strength and hope.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
