In his wisdom, Paul teaches the Galatians that Christian liberty is a great gift. Like all great gifts it demands great prudence and care in its use. Hence Paul warns us "So be careful".

In the modern world where we speak so much about human rights and especially about "freedom of speech" and freedom of expression, we far too often fall into the trap of injustice and lack of that charity which is the foundation of all forms of harmony and acceptance.

Unfortunately, for so many people, the trap of injustice is provided by various forms of social media, with the result that the incredible and marvellous forms of modern technology are often used abusively. Thoughtless people use social media to make mindless and unreflected comments that often border on the illegal and even the criminal and technically leave the writers open to prosecution under the law.

The abuse of social media to engage in character assassination through criticizing, denigrating, lampooning or diabolizing others should in any just society demand that they be shut down until we learn to be more prudent and civilized in our interactions.

Teach us, Lord, to love each other as You have loved us and to manifest that love in social harmony and peace of mind and heart.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the aged, marginalized, and those who have no one may find - even within the huge cities of the world - opportunities for encounter and solidarity.
