"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength" - how do you feel, when you hear this? Inspired? Challenged? Inspired because it resonates with something deep in your heart, that deep desire to love God with "all" your heart - soul - strength? Challenged because you feel it is almost impossible.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 known as the Shema (Hebrew word for "Hear" - the first word for verse 4) is a Jewish confession of faith. What can we learn from the Shema? We can learn to "hear" - that there is only one God, there is no other. We can learn to "love" this one God with all our heart - soul - strength, moment by moment. We can learn to "write" God's word in our heart, read-meditate-study-memorise. We can learn to "repeat" God's word to our children - so that they too will "hear - love- write-repeat."

What happens when we internalize God's word? It will show forth in our actions, in our reasoning, and in the way we live. Our everyday life will witness - that we have truly heard this one God; that we really love this one God; that we have truly written God's Word in our hearts; and that our family members too have heard from us and therefore have gone on to incarnate/flesh out the living word of God.

Lord, help us to live in such a way that Your Word will be made manifest in the world through our lives. And help us to reverence You and serve You as You deserve.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
