Jesus' reputation as a healer had already preceded him. So it was expected that the people brought the sick wherever he went. Even when they touched the fringe of his garment, they were healed. Such physical contact was a manifestation of their faith in his power. It is this inner disposition and faith that Jesus required on those seeking his healing touch.

So it is for us today. With faith and total dependency on Jesus we can feel His healing touch on us - whether physical, emotional or spiritual. This is precisely why Jesus came to restore human kind from our sinful nature. This act of love in restoration reminds us of what God created at the beginning of the universe and humankind. Everything God created was good especially the human beings. However, in today's context and realities, we wonder how we can be restored to our original nature of goodness.

During last year's PMPC 4 (Peninsular Malaysia Pastoral Convention), we were also called to restore our local church to her original nature. This certainly requires the cooperation in prayer and action, on the part of all the faithful. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to lead us into this movement towards attaining God's goodness, not only through reconciliation between God and ourselves but the whole creation.

"May the Spirit of the martyrs inspire us to greater faith and hope especially in these trying times of our history."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That all those who are afflicted, especially the poor, refugees, and marginalized, may find welcome and comfort in our communities.
