What does a righteous and holy person look like? They don't necessarily have a halo around their head, and they may not always seem 'churchy'. But their faith is their guiding light in life in every situation and in the face of every challenge. They live by their faith, and faith is not doctrines and dogmas, but absolute trust in God. Only by trusting in the goodness and faithfulness of God can we hope to be led through the perils that life brings.

The apostles were unable to heal the man's son and expel the demon. Jesus was a bit upset and scolded them for their lack of faith. When we doubt and lack faith, we limit the power of God to work in and through us. Lack of faith is spiritually crippling. When it is too strong, it can be paralyzing. Faith is not silly and naive - we can recognize the seriousness and complexity of our situation - but we also know that it is God's show. There is much more than meets the eye. If everyone had complete faith for one day, we could change the world, for faith is power.

Lord, I believe - help my unbelief.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
