Is it possible to treat our "trials" as "a happy privilege"? To not "doubt" and have "faith" when we ask God for wisdom? For the "poor brother to be proud of his high rank"? And for the "rich one to be thankful that he has been humbled"?

If we can experience our trials as tests - to stretch us, and to challenge us to go beyond the ordinary - then our trials can become "a happy privilege", because no trials would have come to us, if God did not think that they would fully develop and complete through moulding us in the school of patience.

If in our heart, we are single-minded when we ask God for wisdom, that would banish the doubts that we have. And what would God do? God will give us the wisdom we desire. However, if we ask God without faith, and with doubts, we cannot expect anything from God!

If we are poor, remember as Christians, God is our heavenly Father. Our rank is that of sons and daughters of God Almighty. Poor as we are, we can be proud of our high rank in the Kingdom of God.

If we are rich, we need to remember with humility the uncertainty of our wealth - which may be here today, and gone tomorrow (because of external factors beyond our control), like the flowers in the grass. To be humble is to know that our security is in God alone.

Lord, grant us strength for our trials; faith to receive Your wisdom; insight and humility to live our lives as witnesses for our Lord Jesus Christ.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
