Whenever we lose anything and have to search for it, our mood is usually one of anxiety, as Jesus recognizes in the first two short parables of Luke 15. The response to today's Psalm, suggests a different attitude: "Let hearts rejoice who search for the Lord". Searching for the Lord is an experience of joy. Though the Psalmist does not explain this insight, we may see its meaning in the importance of the virtue of hope. Recalling the wondrous deeds that God has done for us in Jesus and continues to do in the sacraments of the Church, we will be filled with great confidence. Faith encourages us to turn to God confidently in all our needs. God's love for us is so perfect and unconditional that he sees and loves in us what he sees and loves in Christ, as one of the Sunday Prefaces of the Mass during Ordinary Time teaches us. This doctrine gives us great courage and confidence. Whenever Christian hope animates us, there is joy: without hope there can be no joy. When our hearts truly seek the Lord, they do so in great hope and confidence, grounded in the mystery of Jesus

Holy Spirit, in the gifts of joy and hope, guide our hearts that we may always do with Jesus what is pleasing to the Father (cf. Jn 8:29).

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the language of love and dialogue may always prevail over the language of conflict.
