How ready are we for that final day of our life here on Earth? The only thing we know about it is that it is totally unpredictable, indescribable, unexpected! That day will erupt into our ordinary life and daily occupation so that even of the closest companions, one of us will be taken and the other left behind!

Why this warning? Because we can be as nonchalant as those in Noah's time when the floods came and drowned them; or in Lot's time when the people perished in the fire that rained on them. This imagery given to us is to set us in motion in the path of conversion and reform, both personal and societal.

To wait for the end, to calculate its final appearance can become an escapism from a decision in the present or to postpone a decision to CHANGE. We need not be anxious for when it comes to GOD the future is not distant from the present. The future is already hidden in the present, like a tree in the seed that is down. Signs of death, decay and New life springing from the earth abound all around us: creating an awareness of CHANGE!

Awaiting in trust for God's plan to unfold while being involved in action is an excellent means of readiness for the day of the LORD!

LORD, here I am! I come to do Your will!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the language of love and dialogue may always prevail over the language of conflict.
