God's salvation project began with his Son taking the flesh of a human being born into a Jewish family, a family belonging to those called in the Old Testament "the Poor of Yahweh" - unconditionally faithful to God in all things.. From the moment of his birth, Jesus was with us as Son of God and saviour. For God sent his Son to be with us. At the hour of his death, Jesus, the Son of God, accomplished his mission on earth as he positioned himself, heart and soul, on the side of those who are in tribulation - God's Poor. He did this by taking on himself the fruits of human sinfulness and died on the Cross.

So today, we pray for the people whom the crucified Jesus remembered to his Father in his final moments: Victims of wars and political expediency, racial hatred, greed and fear. We pray for ourselves, for repentance, for compassion and for justice.

Lord, hear our prayers.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
