Our journey through life can seem arduous and lonely at times. It might seem that no one cares and that nothing matters. Hebrews reassures us - we are surrounded by a cloud of unseen witnesses - angels and the souls of the faithful departed. They cheer us on, offering encouragement and help at times. Most of all, we have the example of Jesus. He was the pioneer - he went first a blazed a path for us - and he perfects our faith. He always walks beside us as our friend so we are never alone.

Jesus had a busy day. On his way to heal Jairus' daughter, a woman with a flow of blood touched him and was healed. Although he did not see her, he felt power go out of him. When she finally admitted that she touched him, he blessed her faith and sent her on her way. When he arrived at Jairus' house, the girl was already dead. Jesus told them not to be afraid but to have faith. They laughed at him when he said she was merely sleeping. But he grasped the girl by the hand and brought her back to life. Two things are necessary for healing: faith, and a lack of fear. With these, all things are possible.

Lord, grant me patience and trust.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
