Compassion is God's language. As soon as Jesus is told of Simon's mother-in-law, he is moved to raise her from her illness to fullness of life. Her response was to serve Jesus and his disciples.

Our ministry of teaching, preaching the Gospel cannot be separated from the healing of the sick, and the lonely. All afternoon and into the late evening the entire town is at the door of Simon Peter's house...waiting to be healed. Hearing the word of GOD, we cannot but want to be healed of all our illness, to be free to serve with gratitude in our hearts.?

The first disciples experienced the richness of the mission of Jesus, as Messiah,as one of us,flesh and blood...in the passion with which Jesus approached the poor, the sick, lonely, the possessed.

The disciples learnt another dimension of the ministry of Jesus: Jesus needed time with GOD,to discern his Father's will; not to be side-tracked by the wishes of the people but to go where the Father sends him,?"for that is why I came."

LORD, teach me daily what your will is.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That young people, especially in Latin America, follow the example of Mary and respond to the call of the Lord to communicate the joy of the Gospel to the world.
