In today's Genesis story, we see how jealousy affected the relationship among the siblings in the family of Joseph that allowed murderous hatred to surface. We often see this happening in today's society which may even occur in our own reality. Yet we know God "writes straight in crooked lines" and there is the element of hope that pushes us forward despite obstacles and difficulties.

This is a message in the Gospel passage: the tenants are the Jews, the servants represent the OT prophets, many of whom were killed. The son represents Christ who was condemned to death by the religious leaders. Other tenants refer to the gentiles. In fact by 2nd century, the church was composed almost entirely of gentiles. God's love extended to all regardless of race, creed and religions. Salvation is for all!

Jesus is the cornerstone of the building - in the families where Jesus is the centre, the members become the children of God. Their witnessing lives serve as an invitation to others that they too can be in the Kingdom of God! This is discipleship!

During this Lenten season, let us strive to live with a greater sense of sorrow and repent from our sinful habits; thus becoming more compassionate and forgiving.

Lord, You are the cornerstone of our lives. Grant us the grace to live.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christian communities, especially those who are persecuted, feel that they are close to Christ and have their rights respected.
