In today's scripture readings, one gets the impression that the events of Easter do bring about changes. In other words, things are not the same as before. On seeing that the stone covering the tomb was moved away, Mary immediately sensed something had happened. She runs to Peter and the other disciple and shares with them what she has seen and what she thinks may have happened.

On hearing this, Peter and the other disciple set out immediately, running together, to the tomb. When they reached the tomb, they saw what had happened, and they now understood the teaching of scripture - that Jesus must rise from the dead.

Through his encounter with Christ, Paul knew something has to be done. In writing to the Colossians, Paul urges his readers to look at the things that are in heaven where Christ is and not to the things of earth. After all, says Paul, Christians have to die to the things of the world so that they may have life in Christ.

In experiencing the Risen Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, Peter knew something has to be done. In addressing the people, Peter preaches about Jesus; that he and the other disciples are witnesses to the fact that Jesus has risen from the dead. And that all who believe in Jesus will have their sins forgiven in his name.

In encountering the Risen Lord at Easter, what is that which you have to do? Could you do it?

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good for His love has no end.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
