Philip listened to the Holy Spirit and went to speak with the eunuch from Ethiopia. The eunuch was reading Isaiah, but he didn't understand what he was reading, so Philip was able to instruct him. The eunuch listened to the Holy Spirit, drawing him to God and requested baptism. Philip listened to the Holy Spirit and baptized the eunuch. Philip continued to respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit without knowing why and he left in obedience without seeing the end result.

God calls us to obey often without letting us know the impact of our actions.

Jesus said that he was the real bread of life. He compared himself with the manna given by God to the Israelites in the desert. The Israelites ate the manna, and it provided nourishment for a time, but they eventually died.

Jesus said that he came down from heaven like the manna, but he claimed to be the living bread that would provide eternal life. The people took him literally and couldn't understand what he meant because they knew that he had come from Nazareth.

Then Jesus told them that the bread that he would offer was his flesh. This was difficult to understand. We can only trust and believe; understanding will come in time.

Lord, help me to believe what I cannot understand.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
