To grasp the full meaning of today's Gospel passage, we have to read the parable in Mt 13:24-30, on a man sowing good seed in his field, and then the enemy coming at night to sow weeds among the good crop.

In chapter 13, Matthew gathered together a number of Jesus' parables on the Kingdom of God, many of them on the theme of good seeds and bad seeds.

In the explanation of the parable of the bad seed sown among the good seed under cover of night, we are taught that it is the Son of man, Jesus himself who sows the good seed, the gospel of redemption which makes us "subjects of the Kingdom".

Lord Jesus, as You have called us to belong to the Kingdom of God through the truth that sets us free grant us the grace that everything we think and say and do, be blessed and so help us to shine like the sun in the Kingdom of our Father.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
