The appearance of the Risen Christ to the two disciples on their way to Emmaus is truly inspirational and much for us to draw from. The 'way' reflects the 'journey' that we, as Jesus' disciples, are called to live in our relationship with the Lord. For many of us, the 'conversion journey' had led to our acceptance of Jesus as our Saviour and Lord. It is this pivot upon which our faith is built.

Two disciples recognised the Risen Christ in the 'breaking of bread'! This deep desire and longing for the Eucharist are undoubtedly felt by all who miss the Mass during the lockdown period since March 2020. This act of Jesus opened the eyes of the two disciples. Does the reception of the sacrament of the Eucharist open our eyes to the reality of our own society?

The transformation that took place in the two disciples reflects the change of heart, from fear to courage, and their intended flee from Jerusalem brought them back to be with their community there. Our encounter with the Risen Lord will transform our lives. Is this true for us as Easter people?

We also see in the first reading wherein Peter and John healed the cripple. It was their faith in Jesus that empowered them to work a miracle.

How do our lives reflect our belief in the Risen Lord? Our relationship with the Risen Christ ought to reflect in our daily Christian living our relationship with others, creation and ourselves. Thus, leading to the growth in our relationship with the resurrected Christ.

"Risen Lord, lead and guide us in our lives.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for those who risk their lives while fighting for fundamental rights under dictatorships, authoritarian regimes and even in democracies in crisis.
