The church was beginning to grow in a peaceful environment. Peter was visiting the various Christian communities and was exercising his healing ministry. First of all, Peter healed Aeneas, who had been paralyzed for eight years. Then he was called to Joppa to heal Tabitha, a disciple who had fallen ill. Peter called upon Jesus to heal these people. He did not heal under his own power. The ministry of healing was an example of the risen Christ working through Peter.

Many people had been following Jesus because of the signs that he had given them. Then they began finding his teaching difficult and started to grumble. Jesus responded by saying that his words would give spirit and life but many left. Jesus wanted to know if the twelve would like to do the same. Peter responded for all when he said that there was no choice for them because they knew that Jesus had the "words of eternal life". Once we have walked with Jesus, we know that there is nowhere else that we would rather be. Are you walking with Jesus?

Lord, help me to walk faithfully with You even when I don't fully understand.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for those who risk their lives while fighting for fundamental rights under dictatorships, authoritarian regimes and even in democracies in crisis.
