When confronted with situations of helplessness and hopelessness, we tend to give up. It is also at such a time of crisis that we see ourselves struggling with our faith in God.

This happened to the disciples who were tired of rowing against the wind; thus, they were frightened when they saw Jesus walking on the lake and thought it was a ghost. Yet Jesus asked them not to be afraid. Such fear on the part of the disciples reflected their lack of faith!

A similar reaction was seen in the event of the "stilling of the storm" (Mk.4: 35-41) when the disciples were fearful but filled with awe!

By walking on the sea (Mk.6:48-49), Jesus manifested his divine power over the forces of nature.

Today, we believe that despite the extent of natural calamities the world is experiencing together with Covid-19, we are constantly reminded to have faith in the love of God for us. This is the love God shows to us in all events and circumstances.

With eyes of faith, we see that what St. John states - that "God is love" becomes true! However, we need to be convinced that "as long as we love one another, God will live in us, and His love will be completed in us."

With the assurance of God's omnipresence among us, we can place our total trust in this "Incarnated Jesus" as the manifestation of God's love which is ever so powerful and unconditional for everyone on earth!

"Lord, grant us the grace to have a deeper faith in Your all-loving presence in and through us."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for all those suffering from religious discrimination and persecution; may their own rights and dignity be recognised, which originate from being brothers and sisters in the human family.
