Throughout the Bible, people are urged to guard their tongues and choose their words carefully. Words can build up and heal, but they can also wound and destroy. Sirach warns us that our words often reveal who we are, and people will judge us by them. Speech is precious, and words are a gift from God; use them with great care.

The resurrection is a continual process. If we are living in the spirit, we shed a bit of the earthly person each day and put on more of the heavenly. A good life is one of continual change and progress. This will be complete someday with the glory of the general resurrection, but until then, we are a work in progress.

Jesus has some good advice about judging other people: don't do it!

When we seek to correct other people, we are blind to our own faults and weaknesses. Often, we condemn the words, attitudes, and deeds in others of which we are also guilty. It is better to put our own houses in order before correcting and judging others. Since this is a long and challenging process, it is unlikely that we will ever be in a position to judge others. It is far better to love and accept them, knowing that we share a common humanity.

Lord, inspire me not to judge or condemn others.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for religious sisters and consecrated women, thanking them for their mission and their courage; may they continue to find new responses to the challenges of our times.
