Through the prophet, God told the people that He would create a new heaven and a new earth - creation would be renewed. God would delight in His people, and life in the new creation would be wonderful. There would be no more weeping or sounds of distress. People would live a long time and enjoy the fruits of the earth. These were the promises of God to the people who would follow Him faithfully. What does this say to us today?

A royal official came to Jesus, asking him to come and heal his dying son. Usually, a royal official would send his servant, but this official came himself, indicating his deep concern. Perhaps he felt that Jesus would be more willing to go with him rather than with a servant. Jesus rebuked the man. But the official pleaded with Jesus, who finally told him that his son would live. The official believed Jesus and was rewarded with the good news that his son was recovering. He had begun to recover at the very time that Jesus had assured the official of it. The official and his household believed in Jesus. What will it take for you to believe in Jesus?

Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
